Leaf and Thread : Desert Stoneware Planter
This variant is currently sold out
Like the rich, sandy plains of the Mojave the Desert Planter is a raku, stoneware and terracotta blend making for a rich and textured surface. You'll love the creamy white glaze poured on the inside of the planter and around the rim kissing the clay blend and creating a blushing orange/red line.
The body of the planter remains unglazed with tiny black specks of the raku clay peering through. Each planter features a drainage hole and glazed saucer which is so rare!
Each piece is made lovingly at Leaf and Threads Brunswick studio, so no two pieces are ever the same making yours completely unique!

About the Maker
Laura first began making plant hangers so that her indoor plants could catch the light from outside. As a lover of plants and domestic traditions of folk art and crafts, Laura was naturally drawn to pottery and making functional wares. Her work is suggestive of its natural elements and organic function in colour and form alike.
From her East Brunswick studio Laura hand-makes her ceramics, glazes and trades her goods under the name Leaf and Thread. Being passionate about our environment Laura’s work is guided by a consciousness about her materials and their manufacture. Stoneware and terracotta clay is dug straight from the South Australian ground and involves minimal production processes reducing her environmental footprint.
