Grapefruit by Yoko Ono. The book was written by Yoko Ono in the 1960s and was intended as a guide book for Ono’s subversive outlook on living life & creating art. Yoko used the book to reinforce breaking out of the typical ideas of Japan in the 60’s in a good natured way.

About the Author

Grapefruit is a conceptual ‘art/life’ book written by Yoko Ono and first published in 1964. The name for the book came from Ono’s idea that a grapefruit was a hybrid between an orange and lemon, thus a reflection of herself as a ‘spiritual hybrid’.

This book is back in print for the first time in 30 years and conveys Yoko’s whimsical, delightful and subversive ideas to live life and create art with Ono’s final instruction being, ‘Burn this book after you’ve read it’.
